Workshop: African Beading with Dorothy Amoateng

Using traditional textiles sourced from the local markets in Ghana, artist Dorothy Amoateng will lead participants through the process of selecting fabrics and constructing a stunning necklace.
Each pattern carries a traditional meaning. Dorothy will share the stories of each pattern, and will help you make a selection that conveys your personality to others.
All materials included. The workshop will break for lunch.
Dorothy is also running a children's workshop: African Beading for Kids the following day.
Meet Dorothy Amoateng
Dorothy moved to Australia from Ghana in 2014.
From a young age, Dorothy had a passion for craft, learning initially from her Aunties and then pursuing further studies in Ghana.
Since relocating to Australia, Dorothy has continued to create. She is developing a line of apparel, and building an online store.
