Go deeper into your passion for art in a weekly studio session in MAMA Studio.
All students in Year 7 to Year 9 (or equivalent) are welcome, with classes tailored for every skill level. Our experienced tutors will guide you according to your level of experience, and help you build your foundation skills. You'll have full access to the museum exhibitions, including visiting artists, and be able to connect deeply to art and culture in a museum environment.
Over 8 weeks, students will move through activities that build core art-making skills, including drawing, painting, and sculpture. Students are supported to move through the skills and activities at their own pace, with their own creative expression. Material exploration, colour theory, and composition will be explored across all mediums. Specialist workshops will be explored throughout the year including printmaking, ceramics, mixed media, and photography.
Each class is 1.5 hours long, allowing time for students to spend time learning, experimenting, and being in their inner creative world. Classes are led by experienced tertiary art-trained educators. Students will have the opportunity to interact with visiting artists, current exhibitions and artworks in the museum’s permanent collection throughout the year.
All materials provided, BYO apron or old shirt for artmaking.
Eligible for NSW Creative Kids vouchers.
