Watercolours Studio
Watercolour students that have completed our Watercolour Painting for Beginners course are invited to join our Studio course with tutor Robyn White.
Studio will reinforce foundation skills, building on techniques introduced in Watercolour Painting for Beginners. Students do not need to be experts to progress to Studio. This course will give you another 8 weeks of studio time with Robyn without repeating the beginner introduction to materials and techniques.
Robyn will extend your basic skills including:
- Reinforcing tonal values, and applying new examples from life
- Adding nuance to colour mixing
- Knowing what to put in, and what to leave out
- Honing the artistic vision and learning to see like an artist
New techniques will be introduced, such as:
- Incorporating ink drawings
- Using non-traditional surfaces and mediums
- Adding special effects with new tools
If you are interested in attending this course, please join the interest list.
Please make sure you check the current conditions of entry for the museum, as these will change over the coming months.
Materials
The Watercolour Studio Materials package builds on the Watercolour for Beginners Materials Package. If you are entering the program directly at Level 2 (Studio Sessions), you will need the materials from both list
Meet the Tutor
Robyn White is a passionate visual artist and engaging arts tutor with over 25 years experience. Working across mediums in her own practice, Robyn loves to teach watercolour, drawing, mixed media and pastels.
As a tutor, Robyn is warm and empathetic, having experienced many of the challenges and frustrations that her students faced in the development of her own skills and knowledge. Robyn embraced art 30 years ago, after taking a break from her career in finance to raise her family. Having always had aptitude and appetite for art, Robyn built on her earlier talents for drawing and after 25 plus years, now has her own studio and fine art supplies business in Wodonga.
Robyn encourages students to build strong technical foundations upon which they can loosen control and let the materials work their magic on the page.
