About the Exhibition
Harvest was the first solo exhibition of Richard Janson, winner of the 2012 Susan Moorhead Memorial Award.
Referencing 17th century Dutch still life painters, Janson used a manual camera and handheld light effects during long exposures to paint. Aiming to emulate the Dutch painters' dramatic use of light and composition, he constructed and captured a time-lapse scene of entropy to comment on time and mortality and reflect on the relationship between food and modern consumerism.
