Artist Interview: Biljana Jančić
20:20 brought together twenty contemporary Australian artists, commissioned at the beginning of the pandemic to create work for our major Summer exhibition. Never before had MAMA have every space in our museum, inside and out presenting new work
Who among us did not start decluttering during lockdown? The idea of storage and the compression of stuff, the mundane things that make up our life, are what inspired this new installation by Biljana Jančić. Working with the exhibitions team at MAMA, Biljana created a work from the items the museum keeps in storage, compressed, waiting, full of latent potential.
