Artists apply finishing touches to MAMA artwork
A group of six First Nations artists, working on a major installation for the opening of MAMA have been applying the finishing touches to the work.
The all women Aboriginal artists have been working under the guidance of nationally renowned Waradgerie (Wiradjuri) artist Lorraine Connelly-Northey as part of an artist-in-residency project.
The works, which include sculptures up to nine metres long, have been created using recycled material from the former Albury Art Gallery, most notably pressed tin from the main chamber ceiling.
The pieces will feature as part of MAMA's opening exhibition, Wiradjuri Ngurambanggu, and will be suspended from the ceilings and walls.
The artists are:
Patricia Cerminara
Sharon Edwards
Tamara Murray
