In 2020, during a period of lockdowns Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) commissioned twenty contemporary Australian artists to create new work, to be presented onsite once reopened. In October, MAMA opened the highly anticipated exhibition 20:20, a special project bringing together twenty visions by twenty artists.
An integral part of the 20:20 commissioning project was to extend this invitation out to writers to also create new work whom also were affected during the shutdown of arts organisations.
This publication is a culmination of each writer’s unique perspective and interpretations of the 20:20 artworks. From critical interrogations of our current society, to personal pandemic musings, Wiradjuri language as poetic response, dream interpretations and the constant use of breath to reconcile with family loss.
