Catherine Stewart: Habitus

The endured artistic concern of the artist’s place in the world was keenly felt in Catherine Stewart’s large solo presentation.

A vibrant colour palette and fluid compositional style added an enigmatic quality to depictions of landscapes which held deep significance to the artist. These bold Australian vistas sat alongside more modest paintings of native floral still lifes. Between these two threads of work we were offered a very personal reflection on the interior and exterior life of the artist.
