Holiday Drop-in: Underwater Clay Creatures
Create your own underwater sculpture inspired by Francis Upritchard’s Wonder Cupboard creatures! Using air-dry clay, kids and families are invited to experiment with shape, texture and patterns to make a unique creature of their own. Will you create ancient treasure? A mermaid’s hairbrush? A feast fit for fancy fish?
Watercolour painting will also be available as an alternative to clay. The clay sculptures will dry naturally (at home) and do not require kiln firing.
Holiday Drop-in art sessions are inspired by current MAMA exhibitions. Designed for kids and families, the free hands-on activities encourage material exploration, creativity and imagination with participants creating their own artwork response to a work in the Museum.
Children must be accompanied by a supervising adult during the activity.
