Introduction to Life Drawing with Mary-Rose Riley

Learn how to draw the human figure from life under the guidance of multidisciplinary artist Mary-Rose Riley. If you have ever wanted to try life drawing but felt a bit unsure about what to expect, this is the workshop for you. 

In this 1-day workshop, Mary-Rose Riley will help you develop your observational drawing skills and ease you into feeling confident when drawing the human figure, using a variety of traditional drawing materials. Our experienced models will start clothed and can progress to nude poses when students are comfortable and ready. There will be a female and a male model.

Ways of capturing the human form at different speeds.

How different drawing mediums allow you to capture form.

All materials are provided. Aprons are available, but please wear clothes appropriate for drawing studio work including closed-toe shoes.

Meet the Tutor: Mary-Rose Riley

Mary-Rose Riley is a visual artist based in North East Victoria whose practice spans many years. Her multidisciplinary body of work encompasses observational drawing and painting, and in recent years has expanded to include sculpture and video.
