Carousel was a series of one-off presentations which offered intimate and focused encounters with some significant and some rarely seen artworks from the Murray Art Museum Albury Collection.
Selected by different members of the curatorial team, six artworks will feature over the course of six weeks, each of them speaking to the strengths of and areas of focus for the museum’s Collection. First Nations artists, contemporary photography, and 20th Century painting will be highlighted alongside more obscure pieces that speak to the breadth of the collection.
These fleeting presentations offer audiences a rare moment to consider a work of art in isolation, one week after another, each week offering a new artwork to be considered with eyes anew – a series of encounters offering both quiet contemplation and regular renewal.
