Katy B Plummer: It’s Late Under The Table Of The Women

MAMA’s popular Kids Gallery welcomes its third artist commission. It’s Late Under The Table Of The Women by Katy B Plummer.

This lively space encourages kids to stay and play in the Museum, and now forms part of our permanent program. A new artist will take over the space every year, creating new opportunities to play and learn through artist-led installations.

The Kids Gallery redevelopment has been made possible due to funding from the Australian Government’s RISE program, and Destination NSW.

Artist bio

Katy B Plummer makes work about the poetry of resistance and the politics of ghosts. She mixes cinematic storytelling and old-fashioned domestic stitching, and she tries to make things feel like we are all part of a school play. Through performance, video, and large-scale textiles, her work announces that history is a haunted house, and that love and magic are legitimate political strategies.
