Off road positions First Nations photographic practice as a way of moving beyond colonial frameworks of identity and race. The works in this exhibition reclaim and redefine photographic representation of Blak identity, history, memory and resistance. Utilising humour and tragedy, these photographic tableaus present self-determining narratives, generating a tension between the world of the image and real worlds beyond.
This exhibition includes works by artists Michael Cook, Destiny Deacon, Hayley Millar Baker, Tracey Moffatt, Michael Riley and Darren Siwes.
