In her solo exhibition Up ahead, Margaret Sprouster presented a selection of paintings that focused on places of shelter, birds in flight and the rural landscape of the border region.
These paintings were the product of a reflective time in the artist’s life, and collectively they conveyed a sparseness, a desire to pause, and overall a sense of calm in the world.
Sprouster had a long-standing involvement with the arts and creative pursuits in the Murray region - as a painter, a teacher, a student, an organiser, a peer and as a supporter.
The steadfastness of Sprouster’s involvement in the cultural life of Albury had garnered her much respect and admiration.
