We were thrilled to welcome Don Harwin, NSW Minister for the Arts to MAMA today, who was visiting Albury with a major funding announcement to boost the arts in our region.

Each year, MAMA delivers a diverse program of exhibitions that feature local & regional artists, major self-curated exhibitions with works from all over the world, as well as national touring shows from major galleries such as National Gallery of Australia, Museum of Contemporary Art, and Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney.

2019 will be no exception – with artist talks, artist led workshops, events and creative opportunities to support the exhibition program. With 136,000 visitors through our venue in the last financial year, MAMA is happy to be receiving great reviews from tourists visiting the city, together with the community of the Murray Region.

To this end, we are grateful for the ongoing commitment of AlburyCity, who provide significant ongoing annual support for our building, staff, and operations, a significant investment into the cultural life of our community.

We are grateful for the generous donors and philanthropists in our community that enable us to continue collecting art and growing the value of the collection.

We are also grateful for the State and Federal grant funding that allows us to offer an exciting mix of exhibitions and programs for our visitors to enjoy. It was for this final purpose that the Minister visited our museum today, as he announced a 40% increase in our Create NSW funding for the coming year, bringing their support to a total of $100,000 for 2019.

We hope you enjoy the program that we have coming up in 2019, and join us in recognising the many people and organisations that make it possible for us to operate our museum, care for the city's art collection, and present the diverse range of art that we do to our region. We are grateful.
