The natural environment of the wetlands and the Murray River were the inspiration for these large scale painting by local artist Nat Ward.
The light on the water, creating patterns and nuances of colours, lines and shapes were intricacies and concepts that Nat translated through her works.
Using oil in a playful, yet delicate way to make works that were layered and rhythmic, Ward's work allowed viewers to consider her own perception of the wetlands whilst giving a new appreciation of the land next time they viewed the lands through their own eyes.
" I am inspired to interpret the environment through a process of deconstruction then reconstruction -an overwhelming feeling descends of not being the first to discover this wonderful tapestry of nature. "
