To celebrate the opening day of Reko Rennie’s film OA_RR, 2016_17 at the Museum, we invite you to join us for a preview and floor talk with Curator Andrea Briggs. It will be an opportunity to hear about the themes, histories and visual symbols within the film, as well as Rennie’s practice more broadly.

Morning tea will be offered as part of this preview event – please register your attendance to assist us with catering.

All are welcome to attend this public event.

Meet the Curator

Andrea Briggs is a Wiradjuri and Yorta Yorta curator from Narrandera, NSW. Her curatorial practice aims to highlight and support political expressions of artmaking – an approach she considers to be most effective and resonant in contextualising lived experiences.

From 2009 -2016, Andrea coordinated the Black Screen Program at the National Film and Sound Archive, providing access to First Nation Films and touring works to regional and remote areas of Australia. In 2017, she was Program Assistant of the Indigenous Unit at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in Sydney. Andrea Briggs is currently the Assistant Curator, First Nations at Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA).

Since 2018, she has contributed to the care, presentation and development of the MAMA Collection and the development and delivery of exhibitions, with a focus on artistic programs involving First Nation artists.
