Lunchtime Art Talk: Esperanto

Join us for a live discussion as we dive into the origins, utopian aims and legacy of Esperanto - a language created in the 19th Century that aspired to become the world's universal language and today is still spoken by two million people. Celebrating WAM’s Living Breathing Stories theme, we’ll explore our major exhibition, Newell Harry's Esperanto and ask if it’s possible for language to transform society, or is it the other way round?

About Lunchtime Art Talks series

Come and enjoy a perfect bite-size portion of art in your lunch hour! Each week a selected member of the Museum staff will offer an introduction and personal insight into selected artworks over 30 minutes. Audience questions, interpretation and open discussion will be encouraged.
