Exhibition opening – Inga Hanover: Dainas

A row of people wearing handmade costumes and masks standing in a pine forest

Join us to celebrate the opening of Dainas, by Inga Hanover.

With mid-winter fast approaching, revel in the celebrations of Ķekatas, the Latvian winter solstice. Grab a cup of mulled wine and immerse yourself in the rich visual language of Inga Hanover’s Dainas as we celebrate this new exhibition.

Drawing from her Latvian heritage, Inga Hanover incorporates installation, textile sculpture, and video to weave a practice imbued with ritual, folklore, and the occult. The exhibition title, Dainas, refers to a traditional Latvian form of poetry or music. Dainas are short-form poetic texts intended to guide ritual and festival, as well as the practices of daily life.

Free event, please RSVP.
