RAW25 Selection Announced
Murray Art Museum Albury is thrilled to announce the selection of artists for the annual youth exhibition, RAW25.
RAW is an annual open call for young people from the Murray region. Artists aged 16 – 21 are invited to submit an artwork, or a small series of artworks, for consideration for inclusion in a group exhibition. RAW highlights the creative strengths of local young people, inviting those with a passion for art – whether they are attending school, are formally trained or self-taught – to present their work in a professional gallery setting that showcases their practice to a broader audience.
Out of numerous exceptional applications received, nine artists have been selected to participate in the 2025 exhibition: Alexa Taylor, Alexandra McNamara, Amy Bishop, Brianna Walker, Chiana Broydell, Claudia Alessi, Indita Yaxley, Martin Fraser and Stella Thurkettle.
“I applied for RAW because it’s a unique opportunity to have my work seen and displayed locally and I’m thrilled to be selected and be able to have my unique style of art shown off” - Martin Fraser, RAW25 Artist
The 2025 exhibition will present themes centred on the universal experience of being (a young) human – exploring self-identity, mental health, community, environment and belonging. The selected artists will showcase a range of mediums including painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, textiles and digital media.
‘RAW25’ will be presented in an exciting new format alongside a solo exhibition by RAW alumni artist Opal Jade.
Curator, Adele Packer says “this experience will give the unique opportunity for the emerging artists to have a young mentor and highlight potential pathways coming out of the RAW program.”
RAW25 will open to the public Friday 28 March 2025.
